Bird Flu Gloves

Latex surgical gloves should be worn if the bird flu turns into a pandemic. In particular, gloves should be worn when in contact with someone who has contracted the virus or when using facilities or equipment, such as ATMs and doorknobs, that could have be contaminated by someone who is infected. Extra care should be used to remove and dispose of the surgical gloves. Wearing gloves is not a substitute for frequent hand washing.
