Veterinary services in the Czech republic confirmed that all 12 cases of bird flu discovered in the country are H5N1. The EU laboratory for bird flu found the virus in samples from 12 dead wild swans. These birds were found about 150km south of the capital. A security zone has been established around the site where the first swan was found. The Czech Replublic became the 13th EU member state to have confirmed H5N1.
