Canada says tests on dead goose show no lethal bird flu strain
Bloomberg
June 20, 2006

A Prince Edward Island goose that tested positive for avian influenza failed to do so in further testing because there was too little of the virus in the sample, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said today.

Examination of tissue from the dead bird didn't find any avian flu, Francois Caya, a veterinarian with the agency, said in an interview. The agency had sought to determine whether the bird had the deadly H5N1 Asian strain. The agency is conducting more tests and expects the results to be negative as well, Caya said.
