A 21-year-old man from the Hubei province of China has been confirmed to be infected with the H5N1 bird flu. The migrant worker is in critical condition. China has now had 17 cases of bird flu of which 11 have died. The first death was in November of 2005. During the past year more than 30 outbreaks in poultry have taken place in China.
