China reports 11th bird flu death

A 29-year-old woman has become the 11th person to die from the virulent H5N1 strain of bird flu in China, state media have reported. The woman, identified only by her surname Li and described as a migrant to Shanghai, died in the city on Tuesday, the Xinhua news agency said. It is the first known case in Shanghai, which has opened 160 monitoring stations at health clinics.
