Pharmaceutical company Baxter International Inc., of Deerfield, Ill., has begun clinical trials of an avian influenza vaccine.
Baxter announced that the first two phases of the tests, measuring the drug's ability to prevent infection of the H5N1 strains of the bird flu virus, are taking place in Austria and Singapore, the company said in a news release Thursday.
