Glaxo to mass-produce human bird flu vaccine

Glaxosmithkline (Britain) is ready to start mass producing brid flu vaccines. GSK's chief executive will meet President George Bush within two weeks to brief him on the progress in developing a vaccine. Advance orders have been placed for the vaccine by Western governments. France and Britain have ordered 60 million doses. GSK has filed the results of the initial tests and has moved from laboratories to full-scale trials on humans. Apprlications for regulatory clearance for bird flu vaccine are being fast tracked in Europe and the U.S.
