Christchurch technology that could save thousands of lives around the world in a bird-flu pandemic is being stifled by government bureaucracy here, its developers say.
Encos Global Systems has developed a computer-based application called Chameleon that enables medical field teams to identify, isolate and contain outbreaks of bird flu almost instantaneously.
