Romanian leader orders creation of bird flu centre amid rise in outbreaks

The prime minister of Romania ordered the creation of a national centre. This centre is intended to coordinate handling of bird flu as outbreaks of H5N1 continue to climb. Authorities report cases of H5N1 in 83 communities in recent weeks. This folows the illegal sale of live poultry to small farmers which helped to spread the virus.
