Six states shy away from bird flu drugs

At least six states plan to buy smaller amounts of antiviral drugs to fight a potential bird flu pandemic than the U.S. government wants them to.

"It would be irresponsible to put all our eggs into one basket, for a drug that we don't know will work, against a pandemic that we don't know we'll have," Arizona state epidemiologist David Engelthaler told USA Today.
