Taiwan bans poultry imports from Netherlands after bird flu case

Taiwan has banned all poultry imports from the Netherlands after a mild strain of bird flu was found on a farm there, an official said on Friday.

“The ban took effect Thursday and we will consider removing it once the situation there is under control,” said Chiang Hsien-choung, a spokesman for the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine.
