To prepare for an potential pandemic Vietnam needs over $400 million dollars and looks for almost half to come from international donors. They money would be used to improve human and animal health care. Vietnam has been studying how to better follow human cases, strengthen border security, and improve laboratory facilities. More than 30 experts from various world organizations have spent two weeks examining Vietnam's progress and helping the country to complete it's 5-year plan to battle H5N1.
